Health Care

For a very long time now health sector in Tanzania have been facing various problems that limit general development of this sector. One of these problems is the shortage of medical equipment’s and trained workers particularly in rural public hospitals. The shortage experienced not only in rural hospitals where services are very limited but also in urban hospital that are populated.

Tanzania has the population of 43,000,000 (National Bureau of Statistics 2012), among them 80% lives in rural areas and mostly depends on public hospitals that’s operate under government budget. Due to budgetary constraints and the high cost of medical equipment’s, some important health services are not
available in certain hospitals especially those in rural areas, causing patients having to travel long distances for a particular service in urban hospitals.  It is also very common for people in rural areas to visit their local mganga (traditional healer) when they fall sick. While these healers can treat certain illnesses successfully with herbal remedies, seriously ill patients may require strong drugs or medical interventions such as blood transfusions.
The effects such as death, congestion of patients and deteriorating of service has become an issue caused by this problem. Through this project we intend to achieve sustained, lifesaving impact on health care in the country.

Concerned Effort

We are currently seeking funding partners to purchase medical equipment that would allow us to support health centers in the country expand their services such as diagnostic laboratory, perform life-saving surgical operations and better diagnose and treat patients who attend the public health centers.
